His Majesty King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu is the custodian and leader of the Zulu nation, and a world renowned and respected African leader with vested interest in the success and wellbeing of all South Africans and success of the African continent. The King has over the years observed with great concern the high unemployment rate and economic exclusion of rural communities, which according to His Majesty is the root cause of all manner of social ills. It is for this reason that the King has sought to partner with different stakeholders and industries as an economic intervention to this plight.
Bayede Mobile is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) established through a strategic partnership forged between His Majesty King Goodwill Zwelithini and private investors from JB Holdings. The investment from JB Holdings was instrumental in providing CAPEX and funding the appointment of a well-established Mobile Virtual Network Enabler (MVNE) for the technical operations of the network.
The decision by the group to start a mobile network was informed by His Majesty’s desire to develop a sustainable funding model which will fund community development projects identified in the province and other rural communities across the country.
Our core business model is driven by the concept of ‘Community Network’. We aim to provide communities with the opportunity to organise themselves into social groups with the common goal of earning shared resources and discounts as a collective when they stay on the same mobile network.
