Isilo Samabandla. Bayede!
His Majesty King Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu is not only the custodian of Zulu culture, heritage and customs, but is the sole Trustee of 2,4 million hectares of the Zulu Kingdom. Since the dawn of Democracy in 1994, Bayede has remained a symbol of unity and hope in KwaZulu Natal. His Majesty has over the years observed with great concern the high unemployment rate of his people which has become the root of all manner of social ills. Therefore the King has sought to partner with different stakeholders as an economic intervention to this plight.
I am not only the King of the Zulu nation, but of all nations residing in my Kingdom. I care for them all. Working together we will build a bright and sustainable future the generations to come.
– His Majesty King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu
Bayede Mobile is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (established in 2018 through a strategic partnership forged between His Majesty King Goodwill Zwelithini and business partners Roux Shabangu and Jane Nkadimang from JB Holdings. The investment from JB Holdings was instrumental in providing working capital and funding the appointment of a well-established Mobile Virtual Network Enabler (MVNE) for the technical operations of the network.
The decision by iSilo to start a network was informed by His Majesty’s desire to develop a sustainable funding model which will fund community development projects identified across KwaZulu Natal, and other communities across the country.
Our core business model is driven by the concept of Community Network. We aim to provide communities with the opportunity to organise themselves into social groups with the common goal of earning shared resources as a collective when they stay on the same mobile network, together.
