Private business heeds to the Royal call
Isilo Samabandla. Bayede!
His Majesty King Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu is not only the custodian of Zulu culture, heritage and customs, but is the sole Trustee of 2,4 million hectares of the Zulu Kingdom. Since the dawn of Democracy in 1994, Bayede has remained a symbol of unity and hope in KwaZulu Natal. His Majesty has over the years observed with great concern the high unemployment rate of his people which has become the root of all manner of social ills. Therefore the King has sought to partner with different stakeholders as an economic intervention to this plight.
– His Majesty King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu
His Majesty the King partnered with private business owners, Roux Shabangu and Jane Nkadimang from JB Holdings for the start up and operational capital required to launch the new black-owned telecommunications company, BAYEDE MOBILE. JB Holdings has a diverse investment portfolio ranging from property development, mining, pharmaceutical and oil and gas projects across Africa.
For the technical operations of the business, the Group has appointed a very innovative MVNE with great experience in serving rural communities. The partners are pleased that apart from the technical expertise of the MVNE, they also share a common vision of creating a mobile network with a social cause. This has led to the development of a platform which can support this mission.
